The Hawkeye State
The Hawkeye State hasn't done much recently at Miss USA but don't count them out yet as they have actually produced a winner. Their candidate this year who wants to duplicate Carol Morris' success is Katherine Connors.
Katherine is from Bettendorf and is 20 years old. Katherine was accepted into the Nursing Program at Scott Community College where she is currently studying for her RN license and is the Treasurer of the SCC Nursing Club. Her goal is to become a surgical nurse and one day earn her Nurse Practitioners license.
This is Katherine's 3rd try at the state title where she placed 4th Runner Up in 2008 and 2nd Runner Up in 2009 before winning the title in 2010.
