There's only been one Miss Minnesota to ever win the Miss USA title and that is Barbara Peterson in 1976. The ironic thing about it is that 1976 is one of the very few years in the Miss Universe history that Miss USA did not make the semi finals.
This year's Miss Minneosta is Courtney Basara. She is 19 and from Duluth. When she’s not volunteering, this industrial engineering major at the University of Minnesota - Duluth, is working as a professional model. Her notable modeling career has taken her to runways in Atlanta, Chicago, Las Vegas and Minneapolis.
She finished in the top 15 at the state pageant in 2009.
