The Land of Enchantment
The 70's and the 80's were good decades for New Mexico as they have placed 4 & 3 times each decade respectively. They also produced their very first and only Miss USA, Mai Shanley. The year after Mai won, Brenda Denton almost did a back to back win for the Land of Enchantment, but ended up as 1st Runner Up.
This year's Miss New Mexico is Rosanne Aguilar. If she looks like someone who represented New Mexico at Miss USA is because she is the sister of Miss New Mexico USA 2008, Raelene Aguilar.
Rosanne is 23 and is from Sunland Park. This is her first shot at the state title.
