The Mountain State
The most notable Miss West Virginia has got to be Kelly Lea Anderson in 1984. Kelly placed 1st Runner Up to Miss New Mexico, Mai Shanley. The Mountain State did well last year when Jessi Pearson made the semi finals.
This year's Miss West Virginia is Erica Goldsmith. She's 23 and hails from Mineral Wells. She attended the University of West Virginia where she became most proud recipient of the Promise Scholarship, which gave her the opportunity to obtain her Bachelor of Science degree debt-free.
This is Erica's third try at the state level where she placed top 10 and top 15 in 2009 and 2008 respectively before winning the crown in 2010.
